Sweet Cravings at Fudge

After seeing what's surfin' at Surfin' Ribs, we head out to satisfy our cravings for sweets...

The place where something was initiated.
The place where a special event happened.
The place where I missed my bestfriend proposed to her girl. Chos!
The place where I missed it because I was too drunk from the party the night before.

And now, I'm here! 2 years late but I still made it to this place. And so I've heard that their Choco Lava was to die for.

They also have pasta here! Nice!

While waiting for our orders.

Simple but elegant. The farthest frame was kinda crooked. OC attack!

Here comes the lava!

Yum yum! The choco loco in me tingled when I tasted this.

Another yummy treat! This is a new specialty and we got to taste it first. I think... :D

This is really the ultimate combination!

Wished you were here again Farrah! ^__^

What's Surfin' at Surfin' Ribs?

To celebrate Farrah's birthday, some of the beachbums went to surf somewhere. Surf you say? I meant dine. :D

Such a catchy name right? Got me thinking how would they let the ribs surf? Hmmm... Let's see how their ribs look like... But before that, let's take a look at what's inside the diner.

Who's Bobby J?

Better hold on to your children!

Waaaaah! I forgot to bring my swimsuit! And hippies really had their own VIP place.

Now for the entourage...

Love the chili wings! One of the best chili wings I've tasted. ^__^

I love crab, I hate the shell. Takes a lot of time to open. X_x

Love the shrimps too!

Now here's the ribs! Where's the surfboard? Anyways, it was de-li-cious! But who's Pete again?

But where's Farrah?? Looks like the birthday girl didn't made it. Ow yah, she went home to Cagayan for her birthday. But at least we got to celebrate her birthday, with or without her. This one's for you Farrah! :D

Insert Farrah in the middle of Pia and Xtin

PI BURTDI FARRAH!! WISH YOU WERE HERE... ^__^

Of Artworks and Cupcakes and Coffee... One Saturday Afternoon at Cupcaken

One Saturday afternoon... Bulingit and I decided to check out this cupcake place in Banawa. Well I wanted to go there again, I just dragged him along. :D

I've been here last year already with the Skolpad elites, but I didn't get to try out the other cupcake flavors, so that's why I wanted to come back.

I never got the chance to say that I liked what's inside the place. It was so simple. Love the pink couches and the different cupcake photos on the wall.

...of artwork

The bulingit got to brag about his new masterpieces. Which has good improvements. Heheheh

...of cupcakes

I got myself two cupcakes. I kinda wanted to have my dose of sugar rush that day, so I ordered two. One is my fave, Red Valvet and another is something that got me wondering how would Mango Float taste if it was a cupcake.

He always said that his not fond of chocolate but he ordered the Chocolate Overload. Weird guy this bulingit is.

...of coffee

We both ordered coffee with our cupcakes. Cafe Latte for me, Cappucino for him!

It looks like someone got all pumped up with the creative juice! The bulingit decided to create his own coffee art too.

Tadah!

Another tadah! Looked more like pancakes than cupcakes. Hahahah!

Their cupcakes were just ok. Bulingit thought the cupcakes were too sweet. Can't compare yet, have to try out more cupcake parlors! But it's a thumbs up to Cupcaken! ^__^

TOTAL AMOUNT SPENT: 340.00 pesos

SATI is back with a Pretty Loser

Sheila and the Insects are now back with their new single, Pretty Loser.
When I first heard the song, I thought I was hearing Interpol playing! Plus the video have this indie into the wild feel, with a bit of romance and tragedy. A great surprise comeback for all SATI fans.
Cebuano talent at its finest!

Leave it to SATI to break their lingering silence with an anti-love song. (Not counting solo efforts in between, their prior single came out in 2008, whereas their last album, Flowerfish, was released in 2005.)

Twenty one years in the music circuit, off and on, has not mellowed the band. They still sound as belligerent as punks, with a light coating of jaded sophistication. "Pretty Loser" has the snappy drumbeat, edgy guitars and snarky lyrics that one has come to expect from Sheila and the Insects. It's their version of an "ode to unrequited love," but one could also interpret it as giving unrequited love the middle finger.
If the song sounds a bit familiar, SATI started playing “Pretty Loser” in gigs back in 2005, after the release of Flowerfish (remember “Quick to Panic” and the mild insult “You don’t turn me on?”). An early version of the song was recorded sometime in April 2010 at Zzubu Recording Studios with Paul CaƱada, intended for inclusion in a possible EP or full album.
The band, however, fell off-track (hence the rumors that they had disbanded) and the single was shelved until Ian Zafra decided to rework the song with long-time SATI collaborator Micmic Demeterio. Prior to recording, Orven Enoveso made a convincing pitch to add a coda for closure in the final arrangement.
Now SATI – Enoveso on vocals/guitar, Zafra on lead guitar, Wesley Chiongbian on bass and new member Vince Yap on drums – is “back” in circulation, with a tighter sound to be unleashed on the listening public in an upcoming Cebu-Manila-Singapore tour. Watch out for the buzz.

Single released 09 January 2013 | Lilystars Records

American Horror Story: Asylum

Season 2 of the American Horror Story series had just had their finale last January 23, 2013. It was indeed one epic finale. All the characters were thoroughly covered and the ending was again... EPIC!

So what happened to the characters?

  • Dr. Oliver Thredson - shot by Lana on the head
  • Sister Mary Eunice - thrown by Monsignor Timothy down the stairway
  • Dr. Arthur Arden - self-cremated himself with Sister Eunice's body
  • Monsignor Timothy Howard - became cardinal of New York but slit his arms in a bath tub
  • Grace Bertrand - murdered by Alma with an axe.
  • Sister Judy Martin - lived her last days with Kit's family and died happily
  • Kit Walker - had cancer and grew old in a home-for-the-aged and suddenly disappeared out of nowhere.
  • Johnny Morgan - plotted to kill his mother but was shot again on the head, just like his father.
  • Lana Winters - became a famous writer and celebrity, lived to tell her story, and killed both old and new Bloody Face.

Yah that's right! Lana is the ultimate survivor of this series. She went through a lot of hell in Briarcliff but in the end, she was the victor of them all.

American Horror Story: Asylum begins in 1964 at the Briarcliff Mental Institution, following the stories of the patients, doctors and nuns who occupy it, and intercuts with events in the past and present.

It had both negative and positive reviews from its viewers because if its disturbing and some say confusing plot. But for me, it was a great series! Certainly would look forward for Season 3.

Are you with the RIGHT PARTNER?

During an open forum, a woman asked," How do I know if I am with the right person?"

The speaker then noticed that there was a large man sitting next to her so he said, "It depends. Is that your partner?" In all seriousness, she answered "How do you know?" "Let me answer this question because the chances are good that it's weighing on your mind.", replied the speaker.

Here's the answer.

Every relationship has a CYCLE… In the beginning; you FALL IN LOVE with your partner. You anticipate their calls, want their touch, and like their individual or unique characteristics . Falling in love wasn't hard. In fact, it was a completely NATURAL and SPONTANEOUS experience. You didn't have to DO anything. That's why it's called "FALLING" in LOVE.

People in love sometimes say, "I was swept off my feet."Picture the expression. It implies that you were just standing there; doing nothing, and then something happened TO YOU.

Falling in love is a PASSIVE and SPONTANEOUS experience. But after a few months or years of being together, the euphoria of love FADES. It's a natural cycle of EVERY relationship.

Slowly but surely, phone calls become a bother (if they come at all), touch is not always welcome (when it happens), and your spouse's individual or unique characteristics , instead of being cute, it'll drive you nuts. The symptoms of this stage vary with every relationship; you will notice a dramatic DIFFERENCE between the initial stage when you were in love and a much duller or even angry subsequent stage.

At this point, you and/or your partner might start asking, "Am I with the right person?" And as you reflect on the euphoria of the love you once had, you may begin to desire that experience with SOMEONE ELSE. This is when relationships breakdown.

The key to succeeding in a relationship is not finding the right person; it's LEARNING to love the person you found.

People BLAME their partners for their unhappiness and look outside for fulfillment. Extramarital fulfillment comes in all shapes and sizes.

INFIDELITY is the most common. But sometimes people turn to work, a hobby, friendship, excessive TV, or abusive substances. But the answer to this dilemma does NOT lie outside your relationship. It lies WITHIN IT...

I'm not saying that you couldn't fall in love with someone else. You could. And TEMPORARILY, you'd feel better. But you'd be in the SAME SITUATION a few years later.

Because (listen carefully again to this):

The key to succeeding in a relationship is not finding the right person; it's LEARNING to love the person you found.

SUSTAINING love is not a passive or spontaneous experience. You have to work on it day in and day out. It takes time, effort, and energy. And most importantly, it demands WISDOM. You have to know WHAT TO DO to make it work. Make no mistake about it.

Love is NOT a mystery. There are specific things you can do (with or without your partner). Just as there are physical laws of the universe (such as gravity), there are also LAWS for relationships. If you know how to apply these laws, the results are PREDICTABLE.

Love is therefore a "DECISION". Not just a feeling.

Remember this always: It's not pre-determined who walks into your life. It is up to you to DECIDE who you let WALK AWAY, who you let STAY, and who you refuse to LET GO..
