Meet Niji! Apyang's New Pouch-mate

Apyang has been with me for almost one and a half years already and she has served her purpose well. Being an old model, she still functioned well but with limitations on the speed and application compatibility. So she needs to retire on being my main phone and just handle my Globe contacts (which is just, I think, my mader... Heheheh). I'd still want to keep her but I think my outgoing lifestyle would really tire her and belittle her lifespan a bit. She had suffered enough, from heavy downpour on a river trek to a storm on Mt. Kanlaon. She really deserves a calm lifestyle.

So I tried to give Android a chance. I've always wanted to explore that world after being loyal to Apple these years. I found this tough little one from the Sony Ericsson's Xperia series. And ta-da! Niji came!

According to the reviews and Sony's site, Xperia Active has been made to cater the needs of the outgoing crowd. It was even packaged and collaborated with Billabong, one of the top brands in clothing and surfwear. It was meant to withstand the rugged lifestyle. Here are some of its features:

  • Water resistant up to 1 meter for 30 minutes.
  • Small in size.
  • Scratch resistant screen.
  • Dust resistant casing.
  • Wet finger tracking.
  • 5 megapixel camera.
  • Initially runs on Android 2.3

Why Niji?
Simply because Niji is Japanese for "rainbow". And I've always have this fascination with the rainbow colors. ^__^
